Frequently Asked Questions
What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a manual therapeutic approach that integrates conventional medicine, using specific treatments to treat symptoms and uncover underlying causes.
The osteopath assesses the mobility and functioning of the body, identifying dysfunctions that may compromise health. This method is based on the analysis of the anatomical, biomechanical and neurological relationships of the human body to identify the root of the dysfunction, which can manifest in various parts of the body
How long does a treatment last?
The average duration of the treatment varies from 45 to 90 minutes. This allows the therapist to carry out a thorough medical history anamnesis of the patient, a complete osteopathic postural examination, and subsequent treatment
How many sessions are needed to solve my issue?
The answer can only be given after a careful anamnesis and an objective postural examination. The number of sessions required depends on the clinical condition presented by the patient and will be discussed with the therapist during the session
What do I need to bring to the first visit?
During the initial visit, it is recommended that the patient brings along any instrumental, laboratory tests or reports from specialized medical examinations that have been done. This will help the therapist to have a complete picture of the clinical condition and to be able to treat safely
What happens during the first visit?
During the first visit there will be an initial medical history phase, followed by an osteopathic evaluation and in-depth tests to identify the dysfunction. It will be explained precisely what is important to do to solve the problem, and then the treatment will be carried out. At the end of the session, there will be another osteopathic evaluation to determine the post-treatment improvements, and finally, useful advice and exercises that can be done independently will be suggested
